Artwork Description

The mountains in the distance of this mini painting are the edge of the large “caldera” surrounding Tyalgum in NSW. As the sun goes down they change into colours of purples and reds in a stunning display… however, others on this walk are just focused on the simple magnificent unfamiliar smells ♥️ This mini series of paintings explores memory and connection: small, painted canvases are stitched onto larger fields, with embroidery elements gently spilling beyond their central panels. This process for me mirrors how lovely moments and memories extend their influence into unexpected spaces.

Artist Bio

Through an impressionistic lens, working with the texture of layers of acrylic, charcoal, ink and sometimes added embroidery threads I aim to honour the favourite elements in my world that I’m sure relate to many others. “Snapshots” of everyday life, ordinary moments shared with our pets that bring us joy. The quiet strength and persistence of nature, trees that outlive generations and birds that soar in the skies above them. Beautiful rolling hills and stunning beaches, places that remind us how lucky we are
