Since my visit to see the Sydney Moderns Exhibition at the NSW Art Gallery in Sydney, I have been intrigued by female painters who pushed the boundaries in the art world. One of them, Thea Proctor, made work that spoke right to my heart: the importance of relationships with your friends, fashion and style. In this work, I try to combine all those elements to create a fiercely feminine picture of style, beauty and friendship. It is a bold piece, rich with detail and pattern.
