Kristen Olson Stone grew up in a Maryland suburb of Washington, D.C. with a sincere appreciation for art and music. The daughter of two classical musicians, she spent time learning to play piano,
violin, viola, and classical guitar. Although she loved music, her real passion has always been that of drawing and painting.
Inspired by her grandmother, also a painter, she attended art school at The University of Maryland and The California Art Institute in Los Angeles. Classically trained, she enjoyed painting people and portraits but her love of nature and wildlife steered her towards a more painterly style of impressionism.
Her paintings are lovingly collected and exhibited throughout the world including the collection of President and Mrs. Obama and The New Zealand Parliament.
The beautiful community of Palm Desert, California is her current home.
Kristen is an interdisciplinary artist working in oil and watercolor. She enjoys painting a wide range of subjects in a style that is a blend of impressionism and realism. Her oil paintings are very popular with collectors!
Recently she has created a series of paintings featuring interesting home interiors. Many have pets and wildlife incorporated into the scenes. These are highly detailed, joyful, colorful works of art.
