I've promised myself that by the end of 2020, I would have created still life art I'm proud of. I want to move away from my highly detailed wildlife work, and so these looser more intuitive mixed media works are a good way of capturing the essence of the subject without going overboard with the details.
It was pretty difficult to get the scan colours to look true to life, but hopefully the photos can provide an idea.
This painting is bright and cheerful and would look great in a white frame. Some oil pastel detailing has been added so I do recommend that matting is added to the frame to lift the glass of the paper.
