A painting full of texture, created through multiple layers. What makes this painting is the additions and abstractions of layers, giving the painting depth and elevating it beyond the two dimensional. This is a new technique where I've incorporated wax into my paint, giving the final piece a gorgeous matte appearance. No need for varnish because the matte effect is intentional, and because the wax adds a layer of protection anyway. However, the paint surface will be as hard as a candle so please avoid scratches and get it framed.
I love the landscape format, allowing me to focus on the foreground instead of the sky as I usually do. The minimum use of white offsets the dark shades of the rest of the painting, giving the eye a place to immediately look at.
