My sister asked me to remove blues and greens from my palette and see what happens. I admit that I almost automatically add the blue because I find it soothing, but this was a great challenge! I love the divide between sky and foreground, and I tried to add as many layers as I could. There are many little windows to the various layers beneath, and texture was added with both palette knife and a coarse brush.
The best part though, is that seam of gold paint, which adds a shine and warms the painting further.
This painting would look amazing in a white frame with wide white matting. I hope you like it as much as I do.
