My desire and need to study and portray clouds continues with this piece, my largest to date. As with most of my oil landscapes, many layers were added into this pieces over a long period of time. This imbudes the painting with the subtle hues and shades, as well as the texture needed to create a 'living painting' - one that moves even as it sits still on the wall.
It's impossible to show this aspect of the painting via photographs and scans, so I can only say that seeing it with your own eyes is worth it. Every brush stroke and every palette knife scrape was made for the purpose of creating a piece that I love and am proud of.
