There's a magnolia tree that grows outside my building. It's the herald of spring long before the weather warms up enough for me to consider it a proper new season! But it gives hope, and while the short blooming period is sad, it also makes the flower that much more special.
I painted this as soon at the flowers bloomed, in a loose way that limited detail and instead focused on the colours.
This would look great in a white frame with white matting.
