There's something about this painting that appeals. I'm not sure if it's the dynamic movement of the piece, or if it's the unusual colour combination. After all, red hardly ever makes the palette. There's also a divide between very bright saturated colours, but also very muted greens and browns that keep the piece from being too overwhelming.
Perhaps it's the small details, like that top right corner where the undercoat comes through.
So I don't know what exactly makes this special, but I really like it and hope you do too!
