After a lot of experimentation, I've started a new body of work that represent my continued evolution of style. For years I focused on highly detailed biological art before I moved to multi-layered oil landscapes. In the case of these paintings, I've taken the next step of addition and subtraction of colour, focusing on layering transparent colours to create incredibly intricate paintings. What sets these paintings apart, is the immediacy with which acrylics dry, meaning that it's impossible to remove a layer once it's put down. This means that each colour and each stroke must be put down with the clear understanding that it cannot be removed, only painted over. This is the main draw for me with this series.
I expect to slowly grow the size of paintings in this series so if you're after a larger piece, keep an eye out!
Although painted on MDF board, this painting is still thin enough to frame.
