This painting is actually in gouache, which is an opaque watercolour medium that allows for these striking illustrative artworks. I'm diving into still life- a subject I've never spent much time on and one that I'm finding challenging so far. This is one of my very first times painting glass, so I'm very pleased by how it came out! I really love the contrast between the brilliant greens and the orange of the mandarin. I think this would look brilliantly cheerful no matter where it ends up.
This would look great in a white frame with white matting.
