I wanted to add as much movement into this painting as possible. It was inspired by a modern oil painter with beautifully loose brushstrokes, but I wanted to challenge myself to painting loosely in acrylics diluted with an extender medium. I painted the initial layer in acrylics, then went back over the entire thing in oil glazes to give it a living sheen.
I love the sense of solitude and isolation in this, and it brings to mind long drives around regional NSW when the grass is burnt and yellowed by the summer.
The perfect frame would be white with white matting.
This comes flat packed.
