During Sydney's second lockdown, I felt very clustrophobic, as I'm sure many of my fellow Aussies did. To take my mind off the long days indoors, I began to go through some of my old travel photos, and I felt particularly attached to those I took in Venice. And although I'm not a painter of urban scenes, I felt that this piece had to be created. I loved the search for references and the close attention I had to pay to get this right, and I'm very attached to the result.
Although painted on wood, this is thin enough to frame.
