Golden Gelding

I used to ride horses everyday for 15 years. They were my passion, now I draw horses for other people, probably my favourite of subjects, because I can relate to their pleasant nature from experience. I also know how they for and skin feel, how they smell and how they give you a nudge if they want a scratch between their ears.

This painting is painted with gold ink and therefore had a metallic shine to it.
It is on A3 300gsm Bamboo paper and requires framing.

Lara Louise Karpeljuk is an almost entirely
self taught award-winning artist who, only in recent years, found the time to explore and develop her skills further. She is forever expanding her expertise as she likes to explore new mediums, textures and colours.

As a multidisciplinary artist, Lara’s artworks range from loose watercolour paintings in an illustrative style over more realistic acrylic paintings to abstract artworks often influenced by Australian flora and fauna.

Her journey as an artist began by creating the most intricate black and white pencil drawings using mainly animals as her subjects. Nowadays Lara still enjoys working with pencils to create pet portraits by commissions.
