“It’s Just A Bit Of Fun” is, what I reckon every magpie thinks, after swooping an innocent person.

I love Australian flora and fauna and I can’t wait for summer when those little cheeky buggers wake me up at 4.30 in the morning again.
It has been a cold, long winter and with the country in lockdown and not being able to see my family, I am going a bit crazy and it really reflects in my recent artworks. But I do enjoy painting in this new style so that’s what they probably call the silver lining.

Anyway, this Magpie painting is on deep edge canvas and ready to hang.

Lara Louise Karpeljuk is an almost entirely
self taught award-winning artist who, only in recent years, found the time to explore and develop her skills further. She is forever expanding her expertise as she likes to explore new mediums, textures and colours.

As a multidisciplinary artist, Lara’s artworks range from loose watercolour paintings in an illustrative style over more realistic acrylic paintings to abstract artworks often influenced by Australian flora and fauna.

Her journey as an artist began by creating the most intricate black and white pencil drawings using mainly animals as her subjects. Nowadays Lara still enjoys working with pencils to create pet portraits by commissions.
