Artwork Description

When the grey winter days begin, the melancholy arrives, yet it is also a very comforting, calm feeling. A feeling we can use you rest and relax without the need to experience any guilt.

This painting is my melancholy, my expression of sadness, yet it was also created with so much joy in a place where I feel most content and at home: my art studio.
Feelings can be entwined and don’t have to be separated in “good” or “bad”.

LAST BLOOMS OF AUTUMN is drawn and painted with water soluble graphite. It’s on deep edge canvas and is ready to hang (frames picture is suggestions only)

Artist Bio

Lara Louise Karpeljuk is an almost entirely
self taught award-winning artist who, only in recent years, found the time to explore and develop her skills further. She is forever expanding her expertise as she likes to explore new mediums, textures and colours.

As a multidisciplinary artist, Lara’s artworks range from loose watercolour paintings in an illustrative style over more realistic acrylic paintings to abstract artworks often influenced by Australian flora and fauna.

Her journey as an artist began by creating the most intricate black and white pencil drawings using mainly animals as her subjects. Nowadays Lara still enjoys working with pencils to create pet portraits by commissions.

Lara enjoys opening her studio for visitors. Feel free to contact her, if you are in the Margaret River Region in Western Australia.
