Misplaced

I don’t often do watercolour paintings, but I was so satisfied when I finished this work, that I might do a few more.
I always like to finish my artworks off with a few scribbles to either highlight or accentuate shadow.
This little ‘Misplaced’ cactus in a pot feels right at home in the desert with its bigger counterpart.

Anyway, this painting was such a joy to create and I think you can feel it in the finished work.
I hope it will find a lovely new home.

Lara Louise Karpeljuk is an almost entirely
self taught award-winning artist who, only in recent years, found the time to explore and develop her skills further. She is forever expanding her expertise as she likes to explore new mediums, textures and colours.

As a multidisciplinary artist, Lara’s artworks range from loose watercolour paintings in an illustrative style over more realistic acrylic paintings to abstract artworks often influenced by Australian flora and fauna.

Her journey as an artist began by creating the most intricate black and white pencil drawings using mainly animals as her subjects. Nowadays Lara still enjoys working with pencils to create pet portraits by commissions.
