Artwork Description

Accidental artworks are usually the best. I was supposed to do draw a dog commission on the day this Galah happened. But I felt too creative then just copy an image of a dog.
I felt like playing with colours and textures. So I draw a rough sketch of a Galah and filled it in with watercolour. Added a black acrylic background, so the colours would stand out more. I added some detail with white ink to enhance the cockatoos features.

I am always surprised when artworks just happen like this and they are usually the best. I hope you like my cockatoo just as much as I loved the process of creating it.

The actual painting is 28x40cm with and extra 1cm border for easier framing.
Artwork is unframed, photos are suggestions only.

Artist Bio

Lara Louise Karpeljuk is an almost entirely
self taught award-winning artist who, only in recent years, found the time to explore and develop her skills further. She is forever expanding her expertise as she likes to explore new mediums, textures and colours.

As a multidisciplinary artist, Lara’s artworks range from loose watercolour paintings in an illustrative style over more realistic acrylic paintings to abstract artworks often influenced by Australian flora and fauna.

Her journey as an artist began by creating the most intricate black and white pencil drawings using mainly animals as her subjects. Nowadays Lara still enjoys working with pencils to create pet portraits by commissions.

Lara enjoys opening her studio for visitors. Feel free to contact her, if you are in the Margaret River Region in Western Australia.
