Punk - The Macaw

I think the whole lockdown of Australia, not being able to see my parents from Germany, my little kids not being able to see their grandparents and vice versa started to make me feel really depressed.
That’s why sometimes I just like to go a little crazy, put on some punk music and pretend I am twenty again and worry free. So I take my posca pens and “graffiti” over a perfectly good painting and make it even better (even though not everyone might agree with it…)

Anyway, this is Punk - The Macaw on a hexagonal deep edge canvas. Each side is 30cm and 4cm deep. (52hx61w) ready to hang with a string across the back.

Lara Louise Karpeljuk is an almost entirely
self taught award-winning artist who, only in recent years, found the time to explore and develop her skills further. She is forever expanding her expertise as she likes to explore new mediums, textures and colours.

As a multidisciplinary artist, Lara’s artworks range from loose watercolour paintings in an illustrative style over more realistic acrylic paintings to abstract artworks often influenced by Australian flora and fauna.

Her journey as an artist began by creating the most intricate black and white pencil drawings using mainly animals as her subjects. Nowadays Lara still enjoys working with pencils to create pet portraits by commissions.
