Trees Along The River - An Australian Landscape

I have a sketchbook full of quick illustrations I paint, to loosen up and sometimes it overcomes me to turn one of them into a big piece of art.
This is how this painting came about.
I loved the composition, colour and roughness of the illustration and wanted to see if I can recreate that in a big piece of art.
The vibrant colour and texture in that a work will brighten up any space.

Lara Louise Karpeljuk is an almost entirely
self taught award-winning artist who, only in recent years, found the time to explore and develop her skills further. She is forever expanding her expertise as she likes to explore new mediums, textures and colours.

As a multidisciplinary artist, Lara’s artworks range from loose watercolour paintings in an illustrative style over more realistic acrylic paintings to abstract artworks often influenced by Australian flora and fauna.

Her journey as an artist began by creating the most intricate black and white pencil drawings using mainly animals as her subjects. Nowadays Lara still enjoys working with pencils to create pet portraits by commissions.
