When The Storm Is Rolling In

We all know the times, when life gets too busy, too stressful and we are craving the simple things. Well, that’s why my painting style has done a U-turn.
I was burned out, walked daily into my studio with all these half finished very detailed paintings waiting for me to finish them off, overwhelmed I locked the studio door.
I grabbed my kids pens and a tiny sketch book and only doodled for four weeks and I came up with a series of simplified landscapes, which I just started to transfer to canvases. When The Storm Is Rolling In is the second in a series of ten different landscapes.

The painting is ready to hang.

Lara Louise Karpeljuk is an almost entirely
self taught award-winning artist who, only in recent years, found the time to explore and develop her skills further. She is forever expanding her expertise as she likes to explore new mediums, textures and colours.

As a multidisciplinary artist, Lara’s artworks range from loose watercolour paintings in an illustrative style over more realistic acrylic paintings to abstract artworks often influenced by Australian flora and fauna.

Her journey as an artist began by creating the most intricate black and white pencil drawings using mainly animals as her subjects. Nowadays Lara still enjoys working with pencils to create pet portraits by commissions.
