The bird depicted is an eastern rosella, one of my favourite Australian species.
It is painted with acrylic and finished with a protective varnish.
The background features metal leaf, which creates beautiful reflections under different lighting.
You can see shades of light gold and turquoise with a special patina.
I’ve worked extensively with this technique, following a precise gilding protocol.
Each painting is provided with a certificate of authenticity and wrapped securely with bubbles layers and thick cardboards.
