Cobalt Morning

Cobalt Morning is a study in a beautiful cobalt blue, dark navy blue and light blue reminiscent of the famous Delft Blue pottery, the background is a soft sunny yellow, with an ombre edge - it goes from yellow to an off white.

The inspiration flower is the Morning Glory - the vibrant climber that pops up everywhere with its lush colours.
The soft petals are captured in a lighter blue, brighter blue, deep dark navy blue - it looks almost black but it isn't black).

Due to the length and cost of professional packing, oversize shipping and insurance -it is more cost effective to send it in a tube and have a Mobile framer or Bluethumb stretch or frame it.
The full size is 248 x 82cm - allowing a 6cm edge for neat stretching - the painting will wrap over the edge. The reduced price would be $1600.

Australian artist Laurie Franklin (b. 1981) is an established, internationally collected painter known for her layering of paint and mixed media to create tactile works ranging from mountains, seascapes to florals and abstracted forms.

Laurie has sold 1000s of artworks since starting painting in 2002, artwork is displayed in hotels, restaurants and held collections in over 20 countries. Past hotel projects have included 200m of hand painted wallpaper and hundreds of original artworks for hotel suites.

Based in Melbourne, Australia she works from a large studio space allowing several artworks to be worked on simultaneously. She travels and undertakes Art residencies around the world, the changing scenery influences her unique approach to capturing the intrinsic character of the landscape . Her gestural style, tight color palette and use of metallic elements create tactile, intriguing artworks.
