Artwork Description

Mixed Media on wood

Signed on the front.

This large abstract artwork is part of the Banksia series , which focuses on the distinctive knobbly wooden Bankisa pods found on the Banksia trees that grow throughout Australia. This particular artwork is inspired by Cooper Pedy, the "capital" of opal mining in Australia.

The colours used are a rose-gold leaf, almost a copper tone which works beautifully with the dark brown, denim blue, beige, cream and off white. The paint has been washed in layers and built up to create depth. The copper leaf shimmers and changes from a deep copper to a light rose gold depending on the light.

This painting is on wood (6mm) and requires framing - a simple black edge frame can be added prior to shipping - please message me for details and additional costs/framing.

Commissions welcome in any size - Artwork can be done on stretched canvas or canvas shipped in a roll for easy stretching /framing.
