Sea Star - ships in a roll

Ships rolled in a tube - I can assist with reccomending a framer based in your city to stretch/frame it.

Due to the size it is easiest to have it stretched in your home city - either by Bluethumb's framer/stretcher or a Mobile Framer - removing the high cost of packing/shipping.

The full size of the artwork is 325cm x 182cm and the approximate stretched/framed size will be 312 x 170- depending on stretcher/frame could be larger. The painting will wrap around the edge creating an elegant finish.

A light house shines in a wild ocean sea. Gold leaf is used to create the light house and the rays of light, the stormy sea of a deep dark grey blue with white washes over the gold leaf.

The acrylic has been layered on in broad brushworks in shades of a deep grey teal blue and a lamp black has been used to add depth and highlights. In some lights the gold will look shiny bright and in other light it will look a deeper shade of gold.

This artwork is unstretched and ships in roll.

Australian artist Laurie Franklin (b. 1981) is an established, internationally collected painter known for her layering of paint and mixed media to create tactile works ranging from mountains, seascapes to florals and abstracted forms.

Laurie has sold 1000s of artworks since starting painting in 2002, artwork is displayed in hotels, restaurants and held collections in over 20 countries. Past hotel projects have included 200m of hand painted wallpaper and hundreds of original artworks for hotel suites.

Based in Melbourne, Australia she works from a large studio space allowing several artworks to be worked on simultaneously. She travels and undertakes Art residencies around the world, the changing scenery influences her unique approach to capturing the intrinsic character of the landscape . Her gestural style, tight color palette and use of metallic elements create tactile, intriguing artworks.
