English Roses & A Glass of Whiskey

This beautiful, moody scene was painted in oils on the fabric of an old beloved dress of mine.
I cut up old clothes from my wardrobe regually to create new painting backgrounds. People also give me old clothes with beautiful patterns for me to use
I glue the fabric down on board, paint encausic wax ontop then paint a scene in oils. I am never sure what parts of the fabric I am going to paint over and what parts I am going to let show through. That is the exciting part of my painting process.

Hello, welcome to my create world. I am a mad painter, I paint almost everyday. When I create my works I have the intention to evoke an atmosphere no matter what the subject matter is. In a landscape I want to capture perhaps, the time of the day through light and shadow or the feeling of an oncoming storm. If I am painting a figureative work I want to convey a feeling; nostolgia, introspection, or fun and joy.
