Artwork Description

Award winning Progress Series - Environmental and social narratives are explored through stark and surreal urban landscapes presenting scenes that feel at once familiar and unknown. A psychological geography illustrating the built environment yet mostly barren of human life. Each perspective surveys the relationship between human and nature building tension intended to pose a question: What is progress?

"Leah Kennedy’s work stood out to me among all the wonderful entries for this competition because of her exquisite sense of composition, color palette and concept. Her images, which explore the relationship between humans and the environment, have resulted in a very strong series of works that are simultaneously beautiful and thought-provoking, directly addressing the mark we make on our landscape." Caroline Wall - Director Robert Mann Gallery, New York
