Artwork Description

Oil on canvas, stretched and ready to hang.

Signed on the back.

The theme of the poisonous apple and the forbidden fruit are recurring motifs in storytelling. The forbidden fruit appears in the creation story of Adam & Eve and reappears in Snow White with the poisonous apple. It is represented here in the image of Eve, painted on a background of a printed snake fabric which is reminiscent of primitive style drawings. The realistic face and hand is painted in oil.

This painting is part of a series called "I am" which considered how women are viewed and judged.
The patterned fabric wraps around the sides of the canvas, which is ready to hang.  Artist signature on the back.
