This painting has an Alice in Wonderland vibe. This painting shows a young woman leaning forward with her hands outstretched. It is reminiscent of Alice in Wonderland squatting down to inspect the small door (although there is no door in this painting).

It is part of a series of work in which I am interested in the way the figure is constrained within the frame of the canvas. The lines on the clothing accentuate the movement within the piece and give it a graphic quality with contrasts with the realism of the skin tones.
