Lewis attempted his first painting at the tender age of 43. His preferred medium is oil on canvas, and a few paintings down the track, someone actually paid for one of his works. Since then many paintings have been displayed and sold in art exhibitions in and around Sydney.

He has been fortunate to have been guided by some leading artists and his paintings bare testimony to their input. His artworks are generally of the Australian landscape, and endeavor to capture the play of light and natural colours in our unique wilderness.
