I love doing conceptual art which throws out many tentacles to bring together the myriad of elements to create a single image, Conceptual images can be subject to as many interpretations as there are viewers. Nature as the most constant part of our physical world, is more direct and seems only to ask you flow with her. Conceptual art and art of nature seem to have entirely different demands, one asks to put your thinking cap on, the other asks to take your thinking cap off! Well. in some ways. I love drawing nature and for me it is always about celebration and gratitude for the natural world as well as the observance of detail. I often find the antics of birds absolutely comical from the fidgeting of willy wagtails, to the old man crow calls. I enjoyed creating the little shock of blue of the wren in this otherwise black and white drawing.
