A fine art drawing by Linda Schneider of Damien Skipper an artist and son of one of the earlier artists at the historical Montsalvat artists' community in Eltham Victoria Australia.
This original drawing is made with inks, charcoals, graphite, dry crayons, and pencils on Arches Watercolour paper.
"Damien" is a resident artist at Montsalvat. He very kindly allowed himself to be portrayed, wrinkles and all.
The drawing is built from layers, where each detailed layer is covered by charcoal and then reworked via erasing away the light areas, and adding graphite, pencils, and charcoal to the subsequent layers. This continues until the image has an unusual patina and depth, not usually achieved in drawings, and reminiscent of old silver-bromide photographs.
This drawing and others are featured in my "In the Studio" tab.
