This is the second in a series of drawings that evolved in layers of dark tones over a lighter background,. The series consists of nine drawings. Each drawing took between 100 - 250 hours to complete. The series features artists, gardeners, and volunteers at an artists' community in Eltham Victoria. Each of these people very kindly allowed me to draw them. I have had too much fun with these drawings as I honed in and exaggerated lines and wrinkle on their faces.
These drawings appear traditional, but are also modern. There is a new trend towards traditional figurative representation. I also hope to elevate the art of drawing because it is every bit, if not more, a skill as well as an art that artists can practice develop only over time and with exploration.

A black and white drawing with hints of earth browns, ochres and gold inks. The drawing features a three-quarter view of a man from his shoulders up, who is in his early 60s and peering up at the viewer. On closer inspection, the layers and complexity of the textures and patina become apparent.A black and white drawing with hints of earth browns and ochres.
