Original Artwork's Description

A majestic scene of the Flinders Ranges in May showing nature at its best. The galahs are so plentiful here and I decided to focus on the galahs against the backdrop of the mountain ranges and the huge decorative gum trees. Framed and ready to hang. Quality artist paints used.

Artist Bio

Lindsay Kilminster is an Adelaide artist specialising
in fine art, adopting mainly a realism to impressionism style. Painting
mainly in oil and acrylic he paints a variety of subjects including
landscape, seascape, still life, flora and fauna and portrait.
However his favourite is painting water and water reflections
in rivers, lakes, dams, seas, etc. and bringing the paintings
alive with wildlife such as seagulls, pelicans, egrets and cockatoos.

Today Lindsay combines his passion for art and travelling around
Australia and the world with his partner. A well equipped
motorhome enables him to explore the back roads of Australia,
often painting plein air the grandeur of the country with its vivid
colours and changing moods throughout the year. He also takes
lots of reference photos to compose his paintings in his art studio.
The vast Australian outback often features in Lindsay’s paintings.
Lindsay has also travelled extensively overseas and has painted
some overseas landscapes.

Inspirations for Lindsay’s paintings comes from observing
and studying the environment around him. He feels
nature is a wonderful teacher. Lindsay’s paintings are detailed and
colourful with confident brush strokes and strong contrasting
tones. The energy and movement in his paintings often depict
tranquil and idyllic scenes which will delight many interior
designers and art collectors. Chasing the light is very important to
Lindsay and he particularly enjoys the early morning or late
afternoon light. He feels that during this time of the day, the light
transforms the scenes and turns it into something magical.
