Rose and her pets

Beneath a sky of painted blue,
Where purple petals softly grew,
Rose leans in striped delight,
A quiet figure wrapped in light.

Her dog, a friend with faithful eyes,
Receives her gaze like sacred skies.
The cat, upright in watchful pride,
Keeps secrets that it will not hide.

A bird, like thought, begins to sing—
A fleeting note with fragile wing.
Together in this blooming space,
They share a slow and tender grace.

No chaos here, no need for speech,
Each soul content, within arm’s reach.
A world of color, calm and true—
Where love is stitched in every hue.

I am an artist based in Wollongong, NSW, I grew up here between the mountains and the sea. My passion lies in painting with bright and bold colours, Australian native animals, especially birds make up a lot of my inspiration, though I also like to explore flora and still life subjects. I like to accentuate the hints of colour I see within my subject matter. I love painting with a palette knife and I use mainly acrylic paints on stetched canvas.

I love to add texture to the canvas with deliberate strokes that give the subject matter definition without it always being obvious. I am a full time artist working from my home studio on the South Coast. I find great inspiration from daily beach and bush walks and I can't imagine a life where I was not able to be creative everyday, and I feel truley blessed to be on this journey.
