My husband and I both love the beach and for the most part, so do our kids. We often take them to Gunnamatta so they can jump off the wharf, especially if the surf is a bit big.
This painting is based on a photo I took down at Gunnamatta (as many of my paintings are!) one balmy summer night just before sunset. I opted not to include the people or even the houses in the background to keep it simple because I really just wanted to capture the mood and lighting.
The edges have been left white and painting is ready to hang.
