Artwork Description

Acrylic on canvas, stretched and ready to hang.

Signed on the front.

On a day trip to the beautiful Kiama, I snapped a couple of pics from the car. I used one of them as a reference for this painting. It was a lovely sunny day, so there were plenty of people about but I chose to remove the others to keep the focus on this couple. There are so many questions about this pair and I wanted to create a piece that whilst simple at a glance, led the viewer to question what is actually happening here. Is this a couple who has been together so long they are completely at ease with one another? No need to hold hands, they simply need to get somewhere. Or is there a dark undercurrent? Perhaps an earlier argument that has led to some tension they are both trying to ignore? Is it an awkward first date?
People and relationships are complicated and I hope I've captured this whilst still creating a piece that is bright, fun, modern and what can hopefully be a talking point in someone's home!

This painting is created using quality artist acrylic paints on canvas. It is ready to hang and whilst it can be framed, it doesn't need to be. The edges are painted to include part of the image so it will still look impactful without a frame.

All art by Lisa Turner

Looking out across the ocean from the resort on Hamilton Island, with Palm Trees lining the beach in the foreground and islands in the distance.A quiet tree-lined street disappears around a corner. There are shadows across the road from trees and a glimpse of houses in the distance. There is a red and white sign saying REDUCE SPEED and NO THROUGH ROAD.A simplified painting of the ocean from the sandy beach, with colour blocks gradually getting darker in the distance. There is blue land on the horizon and sailing boats in the distance with a ribbon of grey and white cloud in the blue sky.A small shed with a rusted roof casting a dark shadow to the left on a large bright green grass field, with distant trees. The sky is bright blue and there is a ribbon of white fluffy clouds on the horizon.
