In our local town there are a number of evergreen magnolias which have had me stumped! I was thinking there were both male and female trees because the flowers always seemed different shapes. However, after much observation I realised that, in fact, once the petals of the flower drop you are left with an amazing seed head which is just as beautiful. Once I figured this out I just had to commit the 'fading flower' to watercolour and paper.
This painting is set in a timber frame, mounted with a professional acid free mat board, behind standard glass and is ready to hang.
