Waiting to be Shorn

As winter turns to spring and the land is still a golden yellow colour, the sheep are fat and wooly waiting for the day to turn warmer so they can be rid of the heavy wool off their backs. "Waiting to be Shorn" depicts this simple image but as the viewer looks closer you are drawn into the beauty of rugged distant hills, crispy blue skies and the iconic gum tree stand to give the ship a place to rest when the weather turns. The rustic shearing shed, though a bit rickety, still does the job of shearing those sheep. "Waiting to be Shorn" certainly evokes a sense of nostalgia for bygone days.
