Peony Sonata

This work was inspired by the visual and tactile richness of classic Dutch Masters' floral still lifes, blended with the free-flowing, emotional technique of Abstract Expressionism. I wanted to evoke the sheer joy and sensory overload one feels when burying their face in a huge, freshly cut bouquet of peonies and garden roses.

Living with multiple sclerosis and shaped by deep personal loss, Liz paints as a way of transforming vulnerability into strength.
