Purchasing a beautiful bunch of Sarah Bernhardt Peonies I knew that they had to be painted as a lasting memento and of course they have also provided me with a library of beautiful reference photos.
I have painted them in a loose, intuitive style without a preliminary drawing or composition sketch, building the work one bloom at a time.
Work is unframed size on 100% cotton rag paper using finest grade artist pigment ready for your own choice under glass. Final size is determined by the addition of your chosen matboard and frame
