Artwork Description

There are moments when colour seems to carry its own kind of happiness.

A Certain Kind of Joy grew from that feeling. A solitary magenta tree stands beneath a softly glowing cloud, its rich colour held against a deep tonal landscape.

This contemporary Australian tree painting is deliberately pared back, allowing the tree, atmosphere and surrounding space to carry the work. The magenta brings warmth and vitality, while the darker background gives the painting depth and stillness. There is energy here, but it is contained rather than loud, a small burst of colour held within the quiet.

Part of the Colours of Silence series, this painting reflects my continuing interest in colour, atmosphere and the emotional presence that can sit within a simple landscape.

Living With This Painting

With its rich magenta tree, deep tonal background and softly illuminated cloud, A Certain Kind of Joy brings warmth, colour and atmosphere to a room.

Its intimate scale makes it particularly suited to a hallway, bedroom, study, quiet corner or gallery wall, where the intensity of the colour can be appreciated at close range.

Framing

Professionally framed in a black floating frame, which strengthens the deep tonal palette and allows the magenta tree and glowing cloud to stand out beautifully.

The painting arrives ready to hang with D-rings and wire.

Authenticity

This original artwork is accompanied by a signed Certificate of Authenticity and will be carefully packaged for safe delivery.

Artist Bio

Lucinda Leveille is an Australian landscape artist based in Queensland, known for atmospheric oil paintings that explore weather, stillness, distance and the emotional presence of place.

Working primarily in oils, Lucinda creates original landscape paintings shaped by memory, light and the quiet tension of changing skies. Her work often features clouds, trees, open land, distant roads and weather-filled horizons, sitting somewhere between realism and abstraction.

A graduate of the National Art School in Sydney, Lucinda has painted for many years and has exhibited widely, with work held in private collections across Australia and overseas. She has been recognised as one of Bluethumb’s Top 50 artists, placing her among the top-selling artists on the platform.
