Autumn Glow – Blazing Red is a celebration of colour, light, and the shifting moods of the Australian landscape as it moves through the season of Autumn. This work was first imagined and then dreamt—paintings that came to me vividly in my mind before ever touching the canvas. The colours revealed themselves in glowing shades of orange, fiery reds, and radiant yellows, capturing the brilliance of the season in all its vibrancy.
The skies in this piece are central to their atmosphere. They move between the suggestion of sunrise and sunset, those fleeting moments of the day when the world seems to hold its breath and the light turns into something transcendent. The drama of these skies creates a backdrop that both soothes and excites, bathing the land in a warm, glowing radiance. Beneath this sky, the fields spread out in bold tones of gold, reminiscent of the harvest season. These golden fields, rich and generous, complement the fiery drama of the skies above, anchoring the work in a sense of earthiness and abundance.

This haiku captures the delicate balance of movement and stillness that I sought to express—the drama of fiery leaves falling through the air, contrasted with the serenity of a sky turned pale and endless.
