Artwork Description

There is a particular warmth that settles over the landscape at the end of the day.

Day’s End grew from that moment. A solitary golden-brown tree stands beneath a softly illuminated cloud, its warm tones held against a deep, quiet landscape.

This Australian tree painting is deliberately pared back, allowing the tree, atmosphere and surrounding space to carry the work. The earthy gold brings warmth and presence, while the darker background gives the painting depth and stillness. There is a sense of the day gently closing, with the last of the light lingering before everything becomes quiet.

Part of the Colours of Silence series, this painting reflects my continuing interest in atmosphere, restrained colour and the emotional presence that can sit within a simple landscape.

Living With This Painting
With its warm golden-brown tree, deep tonal background and softly lit cloud, Day’s End brings warmth and stillness to a room. Its intimate scale makes it ideal for a hallway, bedroom, study, quiet corner or gallery wall, where the earthy colour and subtle shifts of light can be appreciated at close range.

Framing
Day’s End is professionally framed in natural oak, creating a gentle contrast with the darker background and complementing the warm earthy tones within the painting. It arrives ready to hang and enjoy.

Authenticity & Shipping
Your painting is accompanied by a signed Certificate of Authenticity and is carefully packaged to ensure it arrives safely at its new home.

Artist Bio

Lucinda Leveille is an Australian landscape artist based in Queensland, known for atmospheric oil paintings that explore weather, stillness, distance and the emotional presence of place.

Working primarily in oils, Lucinda creates original landscape paintings shaped by memory, light and the quiet tension of changing skies. Her work often features clouds, trees, open land, distant roads and weather-filled horizons, sitting somewhere between realism and abstraction.

A graduate of the National Art School in Sydney, Lucinda has painted for many years and has exhibited widely, with work held in private collections across Australia and overseas. She has been recognised as one of Bluethumb’s Top 50 artists, placing her among the top-selling artists on the platform.

Her paintings are created as one-of-a-kind originals, with no prints or reproductions. Each work is developed slowly through layers of oil paint, colour, atmosphere and feeling, offering collectors a quiet place to arrive within the landscape.
