Artwork Description

Original large Australian landscape painting exploring stillness, distance and weather through a restrained palette and open space.

A solitary tree stands beneath a vast gathering sky, where deep storm clouds stretch across the horizon and the land falls into quiet shadow. The restrained palette and open space create a sense of calm tension, capturing the moment when weather begins to settle over the landscape. Subtle layers of blue, grey and light move across the sky, while the still land below holds the silence of the approaching storm. Painted with softened edges and atmospheric tones, the work reflects the quiet drama that unfolds across wide Australian skies.

Artist Bio

Lucinda Leveille is an Australian landscape artist working in oil, known for atmospheric landscape paintings shaped by stillness, weather and distance. Her work explores the quiet emotional pull of place, drawing on memory, endurance and the space that lingers after weather has passed.

Sitting between realism and abstraction, her landscapes use expressive colour, simplified forms and strong horizons to create calm, atmospheric spaces that live quietly within a room.

In 2025, Lucinda was named one of Bluethumb’s Top 50 Artists and represented the platform at the inaugural Affordable Art Fair Brisbane in 2024. Her paintings are held in private and public collections in Australia, the United Kingdom and the United States, and have appeared in film and television productions including True Spirit, Dream Home and Selling Houses Australia.

Lucinda works slowly and intuitively, creating one-of-a-kind original paintings. She does not produce prints. Each work is intended to be lived with over time, revealing depth, balance and atmosphere through repeated viewing.
