Artwork Description

I woke early to a sky holding the last of the night. The moon sat behind a veil of cloud, not fully seen, but lighting everything from within. It was quiet, still, and completely absorbing.

This painting grew from that moment.

The light moves gently through the clouds and settles across the ocean, catching the edges of the waves as they come into shore. There’s a sense of movement, but also a calm that sits underneath it.

I find myself returning often to these in-between times, where nothing is fully defined and everything feels held in suspension. This work carries that feeling — a landscape shaped as much by atmosphere as by place.

Painted in oil, it’s a piece that reveals itself slowly, bringing a quiet presence into a space over time.

The painting will be carefully packaged for its journey to its new home, ensuring it arrives in perfect condition.

If this piece isn’t quite perfect for your space, I am more than happy to discuss a commission based on this painting, allowing you to create a personalized work of art that captures your vision.

Artist Bio

Lucinda Leveille is an Australian landscape artist based in Queensland, known for atmospheric oil paintings that explore weather, stillness, distance and the emotional presence of place.

Working primarily in oils, Lucinda creates original landscape paintings shaped by memory, light and the quiet tension of changing skies. Her work often features clouds, trees, open land, distant roads and weather-filled horizons, sitting somewhere between realism and abstraction.

A graduate of the National Art School in Sydney, Lucinda has painted for many years and has exhibited widely, with work held in private collections across Australia and overseas. She has been recognised as one of Bluethumb’s Top 50 artists, placing her among the top-selling artists on the platform.

Her paintings are created as one-of-a-kind originals, with no prints or reproductions. Each work is developed slowly through layers of oil paint, colour, atmosphere and feeling, offering collectors a quiet place to arrive within the landscape.
