Jacaranda Light After Rain

A jacaranda tree stands beneath a sky still carrying the memory of weather. Layers of soft green cloud drift across the horizon, creating a sense of calm and atmosphere, while the vibrant violet blossoms bring light and colour to the landscape.

This original oil painting explores the quiet moment that follows rain, when the air feels clearer, colours seem richer, and the landscape settles into stillness. The contrast between the luminous purple tree and the expansive cloud-filled sky creates both drama and tranquillity, inviting the viewer to pause and linger.

Painted in my Gold Coast Hinterland studio, this work reflects my ongoing fascination with weather, open space and the emotional resonance of the Australian landscape.
