Artwork Description

The Memory of The Sun lingers across the landscape as the sky turns to deep purples and blues, heavy with the last whispers of day. White clouds, lit from within, drift over the hills below—hills that glow with an otherworldly gold, as though the sun has set them ablaze one final time.

The trees stand scattered—silent, stoic observers of time. But in the foreground, one tree stands apart. It is luminous, cloaked in golden light, as if it alone holds the memory of the sun. Its branches reach out not in longing, but in quiet defiance.

Framed in warm oak, the painting captures a moment between worlds—between day and night, light and dark, permanence and change. This tree, this sentinel, holds the line.

The painting is signed on the front with my name, ‘Lucinda,’ and comes with a Certificate of Authenticity, assuring its originality and craftsmanship. It is created on a gallery-style stretched canvas, with the colours continuing around the edges, offering a finished look even without a frame.

Your painting will be carefully cocooned in bubble wrap and packed within a sturdy cardboard container to ensure it arrives safely, ready to bring its serene, calming presence to your space.

If you love this piece but it doesn’t quite suit your space, I would be delighted to work with you to produce an artwork that will suit you and your home, I enjoy commissions and it’s always great to know that this is something uniquely yours.

Artist Bio

Lucinda Leveille is an Australian landscape artist based in Queensland, known for atmospheric oil paintings that explore weather, stillness, distance and the emotional presence of place.

Working primarily in oils, Lucinda creates original landscape paintings shaped by memory, light and the quiet tension of changing skies. Her work often features clouds, trees, open land, distant roads and weather-filled horizons, sitting somewhere between realism and abstraction.

A graduate of the National Art School in Sydney, Lucinda has painted for many years and has exhibited widely, with work held in private collections across Australia and overseas. She has been recognised as one of Bluethumb’s Top 50 artists, placing her among the top-selling artists on the platform.

Her paintings are created as one-of-a-kind originals, with no prints or reproductions. Each work is developed slowly through layers of oil paint, colour, atmosphere and feeling, offering collectors a quiet place to arrive within the landscape.
