Tethered Butterflies is a watercolour piece influenced by a wonderful Japanese artist I very much admire - Yuko Nagayama.
"The Butterfly is a flying flower, the flower a tethered butterfly" - Ecouchard Le Brun.
I have liberally applied watercolour with large brushes and buckets of water to achieve the wonderful free effects which can be achieved with this great medium when you allow it to have its own way. I have used a light and bright colour scheme of magentas (Pantone colour of 2023) and violets to give a fresh look to the blooming of spring and how exciting is it to be able to display some colourful blossoms on your wall. This is part of the series in this style of works.
Consider using the Bluethumb framing service, so your piece arrives ready to hang straight out of the box!
If you love this piece but it doesn’t quite suit your space, I would be delighted to work with you to produce an artwork that will work for you and your home, I enjoy commissions and it’s always great to know that this is something uniquely yours. You can now email me directly, straight to my inbox and we can discuss what you would like.
The paintings are signed on the front with my name ‘Lucinda’ and come with a Certificate of Authenticity. I only use Artist quality materials in the creation of my artwork .
The piece will arrive cocooned in bubble wrap and packed within a sturdy cardboard container, sometimes recycled ( I do like to recycle when I can!), any glass will be taped to help prevent breakage, I am still losing the war with the tape machine so the package may not be the prettiest on the outside but the contents will arrive safe and sound.
