Artwork Description

The Gentle Earth by Lucinda Leveille is a large statement panoramic piece, drawing deep inspiration from Adeline Foster's evocative poem:

"Here in this land where gracious peace
Invites the heart to find release
In wide open spaces of this world,
Here in this land where heaven’s calm
Scribes upon the heart a psalm,
I laude wide open spaces of this world."

The painting captures a stand of slender trees gently swaying in a vast, tranquil plain. The scene is bathed in warm, luminous hues of pink, coral, deep red, and mauve, as if caught in the fleeting moments of sunrise or sunset. These tones flow seamlessly across the landscape and sky, creating a soft, ethereal glow that invites the viewer into a peaceful, contemplative space.

The trees themselves rise tall and graceful, their leaves touched with the light of pink and coral, while their trunks bear shadows in deep reds, standing in subtle contrast to the open expanse around them. The horizon stretches endlessly, magnifying the sensation of boundless space and calm, a nod to Foster's celebration of "wide open spaces of this world."

Soft, flowing brushstrokes paint the grasses of the plain, swaying in gentle harmony with the breeze, their red and coral tones capturing the subtle movement of the earth. Above, the sky arcs in a gradient of pinks and mauves, echoing the poem’s depiction of "heaven’s calm." The delicate interplay of light and colour suggests a moment of serenity, as though the heavens themselves are singing a psalm over the landscape. The scene evokes a sense of release, inviting the viewer to pause, reflect, and find solace in the vast, open beauty of the world.

The painting is signed on the front with my name, ‘Lucinda,’ and comes with a Certificate of Authenticity, assuring its originality and craftsmanship. It is created on a gallery-style stretched canvas, with the colors continuing around the edges, offering a finished look even without a frame. However, a box frame can further enhance its presentation, adding an elegant touch to the piece.

Your painting will be carefully cocooned in bubble wrap and packed within a sturdy cardboard container to ensure it arrives safely, ready to bring its serene, calming presence to your space.
